Bridging Unfinished Learning with Mastery Charter Schools

Thomas B. Fordham Institute hosts an annual “Wonkathon” on their blog to generate substantive conversation around key issues in education reform. When they asked “What’s the best way to help students who are several grade levels behind?” Jessica Varavice from Mastery Charter schools shared this submission that speaks to the work Coherent Math Consulting did to create a curriculum for the network that bridged supporting students with unfinished learning with a clear focus on the major work of their grade, along with professional learning and increased instructional time.
